What is threading?

Threading is a form of hair removal that uses cotton thread to remove unwanted facial hair and shape eyebrows. It is done by hand and has been used for generations in Asia, the Middle East and Africa. The technique originated in India and Pakistan, where it was originally practised as a form of religious ritual. Threading reduces the growth of unwanted hair, so clients don’t need to worry about waxing or plucking.

Unlike plucking or waxing, which removes only the hair at its root, facial threading removes both the hair and the surrounding skin cells. This leaves the face smooth for weeks at a time. The process is quick and almost painless, and it won’t damage the skin like waxing can. These results usually last for around 2-3 weeks.

How does threading work?

The process of threading is simple: a strand of cotton thread is twisted around a section of hair, which is then pulled out from the root. The process leaves no stubble or razor burn, but it does cause some redness, which usually fades within minutes. For some clients, this redness can be uncomfortable or alarming at first; however, many people find that they enjoy the sensation associated with threading more than other hair removal treatments.

Our course teaches 3 different types of threading techniques to help you find the one that suits you the most.
